R.A.P.S. - Reaction, Agility, Power and Strength Rating Specialist
As a certified Reaction, Agility, Power and Strength Rating Specialist (RAPS),
I provide athletes with a systematic athletic assessment and collegiate recruitment evaluation in a professional environment in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each athlete to help prevent injury and improve athletic performance.
RAPS testing assesses the athlete's ability to:
-
Coordinate power and explosiveness
-
Change of direction
-
Speed
-
Endurance
-
Core Strength
-
Agility
Eight tests for each individual sport that assesses the athleticism of an individual specific to the demands of that sport.
A RAPS score is generated from the results of the tests:
8-12 year olds are given a percentile ranking based on their age group, while 13-18
year olds are given a percentile ranking which compares them to high school and collegiate athletes from across the country.
A RAPS score:
-
Demonstrates their strengths and weaknesses
-
Lets the athlete know how much work they need to do to measure up against
the nation's best -
The athlete will have a better idea of how hard they must work to get up to the
next level, and leverage themselves for a college scholarship
