Functional Movement Systems (FMS)
As a certified Functional Movement Systems (FMS) Provider, we will provide functional
movement screening and a functional exercise system. These days, athletes are working harder to become stronger, faster, more powerful; to be the best at their sport. They work hard to improve their flexibility, strength, speed, endurance and power. Some athletes and fitness enthusiasts perform in a high level of activities, even though they are insufficient in their fundamental movements, causing poor movement patterns without knowing it. They are putting themselves at a higher risk for injuries that can sideline them and keep them from performing.
The idea is to identify a person's weak link by screening their fundamental movement patterns to find physical and/or functional limitations. We can then design an individualized corrective workout program based on the weak link.
The intended purpose of the movement screening:
Identify those individuals who are at risk of injury, and are attempting to maintain and/or increase their physical activity level.
Program design by systematically using corrective exercises to improve the fundamental movement patterns.
Provide a systematic tool for monitoring progress and movement pattern development in the presence of changing fitness levels.
To create a functional movement baseline to allow rating and ranking movement
for statistical observation.
